Multiplication Timings

As we near the end of the 2nd quarter of school, it is time for us to work on memorizing our multiplication facts well enough to begin weekly timings.
During the next six weeks of school, I will be sending home a new letter in Tuesday Folders explaining the 6 facts that need to be studied that week and requesting 10 minutes a night to help your child practice these facts for the week.  We will add on 6 new facts the following week so your
child will need to save the "Week 1" facts and build their skills throughout this next quarter of school to include Weeks 1 through 6.

Week 1 Facts:
8x2=16, 3x3=9, 9x6=54, 2x7=14, 5x5=25, 8x4=32

Our timings will include the above facts mixed with all the 1's and all the 0's facts.
We will start daily timings on Tuesday, January 15 the first day of 3rd quarter.

Suggestions for helping your child practice are:
  • "Dry Erase" markers & a bathroom mirror (have mom or dad √ them before bed)
  • Index cards and Ziplock bag to make a personal set of flash cards (we have some at school we made that we practice with when they finish work early)
  • Ipad apps for multiplication
Thank you for dedicating time for your child to practice.  It will make a huge difference in their confidence with math!
